Who We Are

Fayette County EMS is privileged to serve the Community of Fayette County Texas. We are a rural department consisting of a dedicated staff of just under 45 medical providers. Utilizing the most up to date protocols and training ensures that our staff will offer the best in patient care.

Meet The Leadership

Josh Vandever serves as EMS Director (Chief) and has been working and volunteering in emergency response since 2007.

​

He is a graduate of Blinn College and Sam Houston State University and is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Service and Administration program at Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Government and Public Service.

​

Chief Vandever is a Licensed Paramedic and holds certifications as an IBSC Critical Care Paramedic–Certified (CCP-C), EMS Instructor, Fire Instructor, Structural Firefighter, Fire Officer, and Flood and Swiftwater Rescue Technician.

​

Josh and his wife, Kristen, live in Fayette County with their daughter, Haley, and son, Mason.

Gary Daniels serves as the Assistant Chief of Fayette County EMS and brings over a decade of experience in EMS and firefighting. He joined the organization in August 2023.

​

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Sciences from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and is currently pursuing an Executive Master’s in Public Leadership at The University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs.

​

Assistant Chief Daniels is a Licensed Paramedic, IBSC Critical Care Paramedic–Certified (CCP-C) and Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C).

 

He resides in the West Point area.

Jarrett Bise serves as A Shift Captain for Fayette County EMS and has been with the organization for 13 years. He joined the command staff in April 2016.

​

He completed the TEEX EMS Program and earned his Paramedic license in 2013. He is an IBSC Critical Care Paramedic–Certified (CCP-C).

​

Captain Bise and his family reside in the Giddings area.

Neil Watkins serves as B Shift Captain for Fayette County EMS and has been with the organization for 15 years. He joined the command staff in October 2022.

​

He completed the TEEX EMS Program and earned his Paramedic license in 2021. He is an IBSC Critical Care Paramedic–Certified (CCP-C).

Captain Watkins and his family reside in La Grange.

Conner Zeller serves as C Shift Captain for Fayette County EMS and has been with the organization for four years. He joined the command staff in November 2022.

​

He completed the Blinn College EMS Program and earned his Paramedic license in 2019. He is an IBSC Critical Care Paramedic–Certified (CCP-C).

​

Captain Zeller and his family reside in the La Grange area.
